In November of 2009, Matthew Alex Bice was formally charged with the offense of Rape in Jackson County Circuit Court. At the time of the filing, he was out of jail on bond and was awaiting trial.
While out on bond, Mr. Bice had a scheduled court appearance on January 25, 2010 and he failed to appear on that court date. As a result of Mr. Bice failing to appear, a warrant of arrest was issued for Mr. Bice on February 5, 2010.
Investigator David Platt then began attempting to locate Mr. Bice and had not been able to locate him. Through various sources, Investigator Platt discovered that Mr. Bice was to report on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at a National Guard Unit in Conway, Arkansas for deployment to Afghanistan.
Based on this information, Investigator Platt then contacted the United States Marshals Office in Little Rock for assistance in apprehending Mr. Bice.
On Saturday, February 13, 2010, Investigator Platt received a
phone call from a Deputy United States Marshal who advised that Mr. Bice was taken into custody.
Mr. Bice was initially transported to the Faulkner County Detention Center and was later transported to the Jackson County Detention Center. He is currently being held on a $25,000.00 cash bond.
